SpeakLoop Android Privacy Policy

SpeakLoop for Android is an English speaking practice app that turns user-entered topics into English dialogs, audio playback, speaking practice, and vocabulary review.

SpeakLoop is provided by Spencer Chiang, trading as NxLayer.

The topic you enter and your selected practice settings are sent to SpeakLoop's backend service when you generate a dialog.

This information is used to provide the app's core functionality and is not used for advertising or tracking.

SpeakLoop uses backend services and OpenAI APIs to generate English practice dialogs and vocabulary. OpenAI API keys are stored on the backend and are not stored in the Android app.

When you practise speaking, your voice is converted to text by the speech recognition service provided by your Android device so the app can show you which words were not understood.

Depending on your device and its settings, that service may process your voice on the device itself or on the service provider's servers. SpeakLoop receives only the recognised text. We do not store, replay, or share your recordings.

You can revoke microphone access at any time in your Android settings. Speaking practice will stop working if you do.

Generated dialogs, vocabulary cards, review progress, language settings, and a device-specific client identifier are stored locally on your Android device so you can practice saved content again.

SpeakLoop offers consumable in-app purchases for generation credits through Google Play. Google Play processes payment information. SpeakLoop receives purchase information needed to add credits and prevent duplicate redemption of the same purchase.

SpeakLoop does not require account registration. We do not sell personal data. If you contact us for support, we may receive your email address and any details you choose to include.

Support information is used only to respond to your request.

Content saved inside the app can be removed by uninstalling SpeakLoop or clearing its app data on your Android device. Support emails may be retained as needed to respond to your request and maintain support records. You may request deletion of support correspondence by contacting us.
